Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), on Tuesday, started the process of receiving comprehensive briefings on the state of affairs from all the departments under his ministry and all the agencies he supervises.

Keyamo on Wednesday made this disclosure while tweeting that he will go on daily for the next few days.

The newly-appointed Aviation minister has also said that he intends to complete this exercise before taking some very clear decisions.

Keyamo who is a former minister of state for Labour and Employment was on Monday sworn in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria’s new Minister of Aviation.

He has also said that he will continue with the implementation of the Aviation roadmap developed by the immediate past minister, Hadi Sirika.

Keyamo said this on Monday in Abuja while resuming office while he expressed workable confidence in the structure of the Aviation roadmap.

“I have read the roadmap, the one developed in 2016, I read it thoroughly, our intention is not to disrupt things that have been done so well,” he said.

“If there are things that have not been done so well, we will look at it thoroughly. We may have to add to the roadmap but not pull it down totally.

“This is simply because I know it was a product of a roundtable held in 2016, so if it was well thought out, I like the structure that I saw,” Keyamo stated.

Keyamo served in the immediate past administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari briefly as minister of state in the Niger Delta ministry before he was moved to the Ministry of Labour and Employment in the same capacity.
