Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University Kabba, Professor Kehinde Eniola, has said the institution will establish its primary and Secondary School wings to develop students from a basic academic foundation.

Eniola made this known on Monday during the pre-matriculation press conference held in his office Kabba.

Eniola, a professor of Environmental and Public Health Microbiology, said, “The university is matriculating its second set of students into the institution. We have realized that we need to establish our own primary and secondary to enable grow students from the basics and program them for the profession we wish them to take.

“Science and technology begins from a sound basic foundation that is available at the primary and secondary schools. So we intend to go fully professional giving them sound technical knowledge from the foundation.

“The initiative is to make tertiary level of education easier and interesting for students when they get to the university because we have discovered that students run away from away from mathematics and science subjects due to poor basic knowledge from foundation.

“Most university candidates struggle to get the required cut-off points that are needed for their admission. A sound basic knowledge from the beginning will help them a lot in getting their cut-off points.”
