Kumuyi tasks Tinubu,  others on selfless, purposeful leadership

Pastor Kumuyi

General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor Williams Kumuyi, has tasked President Bola Tinubu, state governors and other leaders across the country to embrace selflessness in service by offering purposeful and people-driven leadership to the citizens.

The cleric gave the charge in Port Harcourt on arrival for a six-day Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK), titled titled: “Supernatural Freedom through Christ.”

Kumuyi, while counselling Nigerian leaders against being selfish with the people’s mandate, urged them to prioritise citizens’ freedom and work towards the common goal for a better Nigeria.

He said: “Our leaders should fulfil the purpose God appointed them, which is to be a blessing to the nation and to think not of themselves but of what they can do to allow freedom to reign in the country.

He acknowledged the enormous challenges in the country and urged citizens not to lose hope but to anchor their faith in God for solution.

“My counsel to everyone is that we should look up to God and not lose hope because we know that whatever challenges we have, God has the solution, and when we look up to God, we are going to have the solutions we expect and will even go beyond our expectations.

“The challenges are there and yet we know that our God is alive. As we know that our God is alive, we need to have hope in the Lord, because when there is hope, we know there is a future,” the cleric said.

Kumuyi said the crusade would be a blessing to the state and individuals, saying he was in the state to spread the message of love, life and the supernatural power of God.

“We need freedom from things that bind us, things that hold us, and things that have destroyed our lives and held us in bondage.

“We have come, not with political and human freedom, but supernatural freedom from our maker and the God of heaven.

“We have been going the way of derailment, we have to come back and have the freedom that will set us free to be what we have to be and what we want to do.”
