Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has suspended the executive and legislative committees of the 16 Local Government Areas of the state in line with an earlier recommendation of the House of Assembly.

The suspension was pursuant to a resolution of the Kwara State House of Assembly dated June 18, 2019 and Section 29 of the state local government law K33 of 2006.

“I, the governor of Kwara State, hereby suspend the executive and legislative committees of all the 16 councils in the state for six months pending the outcome of investigations into allegations of misappropriation of funds by the House of Assembly, whichever is earlier,” a statement issued by the governor yesterday reads.
