Kwara Police launch manhunt for brother, who killed sibling testing gunshot charm

The Kwara State Police Command, yesterday, said it was on the trail of one Abubakar Abubakar, who shot his younger sibling, Yusuf Abubakar, 12, dead in the process of testing the efficacy of a newly procured gunshot protective charm.
 


The two siblings, according to the police, are sons of a hunter known as Abubakar Abubakar in Dutse Gogo town via Kaiama, Kaiama Local Council of the state. 
 
The Command’s spokesperson, Okasanmi Ajayi, in a statement, said the culprit after committing the act with his father’s dane gun, escaped into the bush.
 
He said the Command has launched a manhunt for the fleeing suspect while an investigation into the incident would continue. 
 
“At about 2200hrs, of 2/10/2022, a report was received at Kaiama police station about the killing of one Yusuf Abubakar, ‘m’, 12, by his elder brother, Abubakar Abubakar, both sons of one Abubakar Abubakar,  a hunter in Dutse Gogo town, via Kaiama, during the process of testing the efficacy of newly procured gunshot protective charm.
   
“Parents and guardians are advised to monitor the activities of their children, to prevent incidents of this nature,” the statement added.
