Kwara Polytechnic introduces card reader for examinations
The Kwara State Polytechnic has introduced card readers to authenticate students identity during its examinations.
This is contained in a statement issued on Monday in Ilorin by the institution’s spokesman, Mr Tosho Amuda, at the end of a sensitisation programme on curtailing malpractices by Examination Monitoring Committee.
The statement said that the card reader was a new technology aimed at identifying duly registered students.
It quoted Mrs Olubunmi Ajibade, the Chairman of the Monitoring Committee, as saying that the sensitisation was to educate supervisors and students on the use of the card reader.
According to the statement, the sensitisation is aimed at curtailing any form of inadequacies before, during and after examinations beginning with the first semester.
Ajibade expressed optimism that the implementation of the card reader would be successful during the first-semester examination.
She urged students to comply with examination rules so as to have hitch free examination.
