KWASU disowns 21-year-old slain student
Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete has denied the reported claim that the 21-year-old student victim killed in the Tanke community of Ilorin was its student.
KWASU management said the deceased had since 2019 withdrawn from the school at 200-level.
Kwara State Police command arrested three of its men in connection with the death of 27-year-old Suleiman Olayinka, in Ilorin.
Meanwhile, KWASU’s Acting Director and university Relations officer, Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, disclosed that records showed that Aiyeyemi Sulaimon Olayinka had voluntarily withdrawn from the Department of Statistics of the institution since the 2018/2019 session when he was in 200-level.
However, Police spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said that a complaint of cheating and criminal breach of trust was made against Olayinka, prompting an investigation by police detectives.
According to Adetoun, the accused policemen have been identified, and detained and are under investigation to determine their role in Olayinka’s death.
