Ladoja to receive Ibadan beaded crown today
Former Governor of Oyo State and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja, has been scheduled to receive the beaded crown from the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, today, August 12, 2024.
The former governor would be presented with the beaded crown befitting his status as Otun Olubadan during the inaugural meeting of Olubadan-in-Council at the new Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan, to be presided over by Oba Olakulehin at noon.
Former media aide to Ladoja, Lanre Latinwo, who confirmed this, yesterday, said: “Yes. He is receiving the crown on Monday.” It would be recalled that Ladoja had earlier rejected the beaded crown when the late Oba Lekan Balogun crowned other members of the Olubadan-in-Council.He also took Oyo State government and the Olubadan-in Council to court over the development, which was later settled.
However, at a radio programme penultimate Sunday, Ladoja announced his readiness to accept the crown.
