The race for the chairmanship of Agege Local Government officially heated up today as Hon. Taiwo Olasunkanmi Samuel, popularly known as TOS, picked up his nomination form at the party secretariat amid jubilant scenes and overwhelming support from party faithful, loyalists and grassroots stakeholders.
Decked in party colors and waving banners bearing his name, supporters thronged the venue, singing and dancing in celebration of what many described as “the beginning of a new dawn” for Agege politics.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Hon. TOS expressed deep appreciation to the leadership of the party for upholding the democratic process and providing a platform for committed individuals to serve. He reaffirmed his dedication to building a government rooted in transparency, service, and people-first policies.
“This moment is more than symbolic—it is the voice of our people echoing through the streets of Agege. I accept this nomination form not as a privilege, but as a responsibility. I am a son of the soil, raised by this community, and deeply in touch with its heartbeat,” he said.
TOS, a loyal member of the party and respected community advocate, called on party elders and members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), led by Prince Tajudeen Olusi, to ensure a level playing field for all aspirants in the forthcoming local government primaries.
“Let the process be just. Let every aspirant stand on the merit of their vision, their service, and their connection to the people. Our democracy is strongest when the will of the people is allowed to speak freely,” he added.
Supporters at the event described TOS as a bridge between generations—someone who blends experience with youthful energy and a clear development agenda.

Taiwo Olasunkanmi Samuel’s formal entry into the race has stirred excitement among political watchers and residents alike, many of whom see him as a strong contender with deep community ties and a proven track record of service.
