Lagos monarch wants support for local festival

The Aholu of Ajido Kingdom in Lagos, Aholu Saheed Sedonu Adamson, has called on the state government to support local festivals, so that, local governments across the state could explore the opportunities international tourism market offers.

The Aholu of Ajido Kingdom in Lagos, Aholu Saheed Sedonu Adamson, has called on the state government to support local festivals, so that, local governments across the state could explore the opportunities international tourism market offers.

Speaking at the yearly Ajido Zangbeto Festival in Lagos, he stated that tenacious efforts must be made to get local festivals like Zangbeto feature in the international tourism market.

“If properly harnessed, it will easily bring to fruition the mission of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and by extension help the state to develop and sustainable its tourism.”He said Zangbeto is a socio-cultural heritage of the Ajido people.

“We are dedicated and shall always celebrate it in colourful procession for the enjoyment of all and sundry. Our resolute to preserve the festival is second to none. We have unequivocally aligned it to the vision of Lagos State, in making the state the preferred destination for tourism, leisure and businessmen in Africa.”
