Lagos State Government has said that all nursery/primary and secondary schools in the state are to resume today, Monday, September 5, 2022 for the 2022/2023 academic session.
The state’s Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, in a circular issued by the Director-General, Office of Education Quality Assurance, Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, said the academic calendar, which prioritises standardised learning days, urged schools to ensure strict compliance for the delivery of quality and sustainable education in the state.
Meanwhile, state Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Hassan Akintoye, while expressing teachers’ readiness to resume work, said the academic calendar was a joint decision of all education stakeholders in the state.
He said: “Teachers are fully ready to commence academic activities, the calendar covers all activities for the year and no school, whether private or public, can claim ignorance.”
