To birth a faster means of transportation for residents of Lagos State, Thesaurus Gardens has partnered with the state government on water transportation.

The water transportation partnership was unveiled and commissioned alongside other projects at Thesaurus Drive, Sangotedo, in Eti-Osa local council of the state recently.

In his remark, Managing Director/CEO of Thesaurus Gardens Limited, Bolaji Olasode, said: “Lagos State Waterways Transportation Authority approved the construction of jetties which can access any part of Lagos State. Also there is a plan in motion to initiate a marine school where people can come and learn how to swim, how to power boats and all kinds of water sporting activities.”

Olasode, who revealed that a number of the launched projects were more of the organisation’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), further said: “Aside from the water transportation, we have also commissioned The New Age Seafood Market, which boasts of the largest fresh, frozen seafood and a variety of livestock products at a world-class standard. We have also commissioned the first phase of Thesaurus’s gardens drive road project, a 2.8 kilometers coastal road constructed by New Age Group, Thesaurus Gardens Ltd and Caribbean Island Service Ltd. This road connects various communities and industries such as Sunview Estate, New Age Sea Food Market, Caribbean lake city and of course Thesaurus Garden Jetty Water transportation; also the Thesaurus Gardens Aquatic and Marine Conservation Centre, which is an aesthetically crafted lake from the Thesaurus canal to Omu creek. This is to preserve varieties of aquatic animals that live in the water body.”

He, however, noted that one of the organisation’s core objectives was to provide affordable housing estate that would be of world-class standard for both Nigerians and those in the Diaspora.
