Lagos to host 5,000 women at national conference

Wife of Lagos State governor, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has unveiled activities lined up for the 23rd National Women’s Conference, an initiative of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), noting that this year’s conference will attract over 5,000 women.

She also revealed that wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, would grace the event as the Mother of the Day and Special Guest of Honour.

She said: “Other special guests of honour that will grace this year’s grand event are His Excellency, President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Senator Godswill Akpabio, Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State”.

Speaking at a press conference, yesterday, in Lagos, Sanwo-Olu’s wife explained that the yearly programme has earned a remarkable reputation and assumed the status of a purpose-driven international conference through, which women are inspired to make a difference.

She said this year’s edition of the National Women’s Conference is tailored towards assisting women to be more productive and positively influence the society.

According to her, the theme for this year’s conference is: “Unleash your Potential,” noting that the conference will commence on October 17 at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos.
