Lagos State Government, yesterday, unveiled the organisation of Invest in Lagos Summit 3.0, the state government’s flagship international investment platform for 2026, in partnership with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC).

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu revealed the details of the forthcoming programme and partnership scheduled to hold on June 9 and 10, 2026, during a media briefing at the Lagos House, Marina.

Sanwo-Olu stated that Invest Lagos 3.0 has been deliberately designed to consolidate Lagos’ role as Africa’s leading subnational gateway for capital flows, trade integration, financial innovation, and infrastructure development.

The governor explained that this year’s summit is expected to convene 500 to 600 high-level delegates, including global institutional investors, senior public sector leaders from multiple jurisdictions, among others.

In her address, the CEO, CWEIC, Samantha Cohen, described Lagos as the most important city in Africa and Nigeria, as well as the strongest business network outside the United Kingdom (UK).

Meanwhile, Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Oluyinka Olumide, has underscored the importance of community participation in physical planning, noting that sustainable urban management requires shared responsibility between the government and grassroots stakeholders.

He spoke during a visit to Oba of Lagos, Rilwanu Akiolu, to brief the monarch about the setbacks, common areas, roadsides administration and monitoring project – a comprehensive initiative aimed at documenting, planning, and sustainably managing informal spaces across the State.

Olumide disclosed that the visit was part of the government’s broader stakeholders’ engagement strategy to strengthen collaboration with traditional institutions and local communities in advancing orderly urban development.

Oba Akiolu expressed satisfaction with the initiative and pledged the traditional institution’s cooperation in ensuring its success, particularly within the historic communities of Isale-Eko.
