LASTMA rescues eight accident victims

Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), yesterday, rescued another eight accident victims at Anthony inward Ojota in Lagos.
 
Officer of the agency, Popoola Olushola, who led the rescue team, said the accident involved a faulty stationary truck and a packed mass transit bus with registration no KTU 850 YD.

He said preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the commercial bus was on a top speed and lost control due to brake failure, after noticing the stationary truck ahead.
 
He confirmed that LASTMA officials rescued eight injured accident victims, two males and six females.
 
“Immediately after the accident, LASTMA officials with support from police officers from Anthony Police Command quickly intervened and rescued eight injured victims in the commercial mass transit bus.
 
“The accident victims were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention,” he added.
 
Meanwhile, General Manager of LASTMA, Bolaji Oreagba, has sympathised with the victims.
 
He, however, enjoined the motoring public, particularly commercial bus drivers to be extra careful before overtaking on expressway.
