Lightning strikes two women in Lagos
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of two women in FESTAC Town. They were reportedly struck by lightning, which led to their electrocution, on Friday night, during the heavy downpour.
Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this, yesterday, in a post on X. Hundeyin said the victims were living in a shanty built under the high-voltage wires, which caught fire as a result of the lightning.
“Somewhere on First Avenue, FESTAC Town, two women remained indoors during the downpour.
“Lightning struck, electrocuting them instantly and causing a fire outbreak. They lived in a shanty built under high-voltage wires.”
