The dinner party tagged, ‘Sight and Sound of Flavour’ was a means of creating more awareness about World Sight Day, celebrated annually in October.

The District Governor, Tolulope Senbanjo, said: “This event does not only bond us, but also challenges our perspective, acknowledging the resilience and determination of the visually impaired.

“As a group, we will continue to advocate for accessibility, continue to expand our service project and will foster a culture of inclusion.”

He added that the donated items will help relieve burden and make tangible differences in the students’ lives.

Also speaking, the Committee Chairperson, Kehinde Orejoko, applauded the students for continually showing resilience and strength, while navigating through a world that is sometimes not accommodating to their needs.

Acting Principal of the school, Joseph Oladokun, while appreciating the gesture, noted that the gift items presented will help relieve cost amid the hardship in the country.

He sought for more assistance from the public.

Oladokun said: “We are not getting any support from the Federal Government, state or local council. It is the little we get from our partners and associations that we put together to run this school. So, we are appealing to the public to continue to support us.”
