Lions Club inaugurates 23rd president, restates commitment to humanity


Lions Clubs International, District 404 B4, Nigeria, has presented Samuel Adesanmi as the 23rd President of Ajao Estate, while restating its commitment to continued service to humanity and development of the community.

At the public presentation and fund-raising ceremony, 15 people were sworn in as Board of Trustees members. They were First Vice President/Leadership Chairperson, Okoro Clare; Second Vice President, Olayinka Tolanson; Third Vice President, Bolajoko Spencer and Delphine Robin, as Marketing and Communication Chairperson, among others. 

Speaking, District Governor, Samson Abodunrin, urged the Adesanmi to stand true to the legacy and allegiance of the association.He said: “Carry out service activities mainly being feeding the hungry, diabetes awareness and screening, vision, caring for the environment and pediatric cancer. “Be an active part of Mission 1.5, encourage every member to bring, at least, one new quality member. Be an advocate for Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) and request your club members to subscribe towards Melvin Jones Fellowship (MJF) and Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship (PMJF.)…’’

“Endeavour to ensure that your club participates  fully  in all district activities at all levels. As you are raising funds for your core project of the year, ensure that the funds are utilised judiciously. 

“The DG team and core cabinet are available as resources to assist you in your journey of  service as you impact on the lives of those most in need  in our communities. Go and make our district, our focus and be the president who changes the world.”

In his acceptance speech, Adesanmi assured that his tenure would be a fulfilling and thrilling experience for all, noting that Lions Clubs is a service organisation devoted to meeting the needs of the less privileged and vulnerable in the communities.

“In line with the programmes of the Lions Club, I will direct the affairs of my club to carry out activities in the areas of youth empowerment, vision protection, feeding the hungry, pediatrics cancer awareness, environmental protection, diabetes screening and awareness. 

“Apart from the core activities of the club, it is our desire to have a befitting clubhouse for Ajao Estate lions club.”
