The former board member of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) announced his resignation from APC in a letter addressed to the chairman of his Herwagana Ward.
“With gratitude to God, I hereby notify you of my decision to resign my membership of the APC. I thank you and the entire members of the party for your support while my membership lasted,” the letter reads.
He had contested and won the House of Reps seat under the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in 2011.
Mailantarki told journalists that his decision was in the best interest of the state and his political future, adding: “Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have left the house I built with passion.”
