Makinde receives 2021-2040 development plan draft
• Flags off mass vaccination campaign
• Governor, Speaker mourn Asigangan of Igangan
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, yesterday, received the draft of the Oyo State Development Plan 2021-2040 from the Central Working Committee and Technical Group.
The governor, while receiving the draft of the development plan at the Executive Chamber, Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, said that the plan, which would be unveiled through an economic summit, would facilitate economic prosperity for Oyo State and serve as a guide for successive administrations.
ALSO, Makinde has flagged off the COVID-19 mass vaccination campaign in the state, held at the Aleshinloye Market, urging the people of the state to take advantage of the free service to get vaccinated.
MEANWHILE, Makinde, yesterday, mourned the Asigangan of Igangan, Oba Abdul-Azeez Adewuyi Aribiyan II, who died at 76.
He commiserated with the family of the late monarch and the people of Igangan.
SIMILARLY, the Speaker, House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, has mourned the monarch.
Ogundoyin, in a statement, described the monarch’s death as shocking.
He said: “It is sad that Oyo State has again lost another traditional ruler.”
“My heartfelt condolences go to the people of Iganganland and the entire people of Ibarapaland. Oba Lasisi Olawuyi Adeoyo is a friend close to me and a highly-intelligent monarch. I will personally miss his elderly and fatherly counselling as well as his amiable nature.”
