Many feared dead as armed robbers raid banks in Benue

Many persons were feared dead after armed robbers attacked commercial banks in Otukpo, Benue State, carting away cash and causing pandemonium.
According to sources, the armed men stormed different banks in the area, shooting sporadically while carrying out their loot.
Our correspondent gathered that the banks affected include United Bank for Africa, UBA, Zenith Bank, and First Bank Plc.
Some pictures and videos shared online showed some of the banks raided. Eyewitnesses claim the robbers carried out their attacks unhindered for several hours.
The Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Catherine Anene Sewuese confirmed the incident to and said further details will be communicated later.
