In a quest to meet the needs of people in the society and get more Nigerians out of unemployment, Dr Yolanda George-David and the Fair Chairman of the Market Square, Alibaba have announced the forthcoming edition of Aunt Landa Market Square tagged the Hold On Pain Ends (HOPEs).
According to a recent report, Nigeria currently has over 90 million persons living in extreme poverty, which means roughly half of the country’s population are living on less than N700 a day. The Aunt Landa’s Market Square is an avenue where the less privileged get to have their needs met.
Set for December 21, 2019 in Festac, Lagos, the programme will feature different activities including comedy, music, games, dance, food, drinks, as well as doctors to attend to those in need of medical attention at the Market Square clinic. Children also are not left out as they benefit from the Aunt Landa scholarship study grants. Highlight of the day will be the graduation ceremony of students from the Aunt Landa Tertiary Academy.
Speaking on this, veteran comedian, Alibaba who is also the VC of the academy disclosed that in the last training cycle, over 1000 Nigerians who needed second chances have taken various vocational training courses for free.
