The Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Reverend Tunde Bakare, has revealed that majority of marriages in churches and the society are in shambles today, because they do not glorify God.
Bakare, who spoke on Saturday in a sermon titled: “A blueprint for a successful and enduring marriage,” when the son of the Lead Pastor and the General Overseer of the Victory Life Bible Church International, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, exchanged vows with Precious Chigozie Chukwu in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
He said: “God expects a return of investment on every marriage because it is an institution ordained by God and any marriage that does not glory God may stand on a wrong footing.”
While admonishing the couple on what they should do to avoid turbulence in their marriage, Bakare advised the groom that he needs to do a lot to mould the bride to what he wants her to be as a wife and must also dwell with her according to revelations and knowledge of God so that his prayers would not be hindered.
The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya observed that the marriage is not just a celebration of love but also a celebration of commitment, courage and a beautiful future.
