NASFAT condemns attacks, declares special global prayers for Nigeria
The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Worldwide has held a special prayer session over the incessant security challenges facing Nigeria and the activities of bandits and kidnappers.
The General Overseer (GO) of the church, Dr Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, while speaking during the midweek Manna Water Service, expressed concern over the plight of citizens affected by insecurity and called on believers to seek divine intervention for the nation.
Olukoya, in his sermon, titled: “Violent Spiritual Practices to Defeat Violent Problems,” the third message in the ongoing teaching series, noted that prayer had remained a powerful tool for confronting difficult situations.
He, therefore, urged worshippers to pray earnestly for peace, justice, and the safety of all Nigerians.
Also, the Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) has condemned the persistent wave of insecurity across Nigeria, describing the recurring attacks on innocent citizens and communities as tragic, alarming and deeply troubling.
In a statement, NASFAT expressed concern over the continuous loss of lives, destruction of livelihoods and the atmosphere of fear in many parts of the country.
The Islamic organisation said the current security situation requires urgent attention from all stakeholders, stressing that peace and security are essential for national development and the well-being of citizens.
However, NASFAT announced that special prayers would be held at all its branches and
locations worldwide on Sunday.
Similarly, Christian leaders, political appointees, and government officials in Oyo State,
yesterday, held a special prayer session seeking divine intervention for the safe release of teachers and students abducted in the state.
The interdenominational prayer gathering, held at the Oyo State Government House Chapel, drew members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), political aides of Governor Seyi Makinde, students, and other worshippers across different denominations.
