The Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of His Royal Highness, the Mai Gudi, describing the late traditional ruler as a revered leader whose life embodied peace, religious devotion, and exceptional service to his people.
In a condolence message released by his Special Assistant, Dr. Liman Goje, Senator Gaidam extended heartfelt sympathies to the Gudi Emirate Council, the Government of Yobe State, and the entire Gudi community, mourning what he called a monumental loss to the state and the nation at large.
“It is with deep sadness and a profound sense of loss that I offer my heartfelt condolences to the Gudi Emirate Council, the family of His Royal Highness, and the entire people of Gudi,” Senator Gaidam stated. “The passing of our highly revered monarch, the Mai Gudi, is a great loss to the Emirate and Yobe State.”
The minister recalled his close relationship with the late monarch during his time as Governor of Yobe State, noting the Mai Gudi’s consistent contributions to peace, development, and spiritual guidance.
He praised the monarch’s exemplary leadership qualities, including his humility, wisdom, and commitment to justice and unity.
“His Royal Highness was more than just a traditional ruler; he was a symbol of peace, unity, and religious guidance. He carried the throne with dignity and unwavering dedication to the service of his people,” the Minister said.
Senator Gaidam described the late Mai Gudi as a man who embodied moral uprightness and selfless devotion, qualities that earned him the admiration of people within and beyond Yobe State.
He emphasised that the monarch’s legacy would continue to inspire generations.
“As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the rich legacy he leaves behind: a legacy of service, love for his people, and commitment to truth. May his soul find rest in the most peaceful gardens of the hereafter,” the minister added.
He prayed for strength and comfort for the royal family, the Emirate Council, and the people of Gudi in this time of grief.
