Missing Fulani leader found dead in Plateau
The body of a missing Fulani leader, Umar Ibrahim, who went missing last Wednesday, has been discovered in an abandoned well in Jokom community in Mangu town of Mangu local council of Plateau State.
The deceased was the Ciroma of the State’s Kumbun district of Mangu council before his death. The leadership of Gan Allah Fulani Development Association (GAFDAN), Garba Abdullahi, said the deceased went missing after leaving a hospital on Wednesday last week to get food for his sick wife, who was admitted in a hospital.
According to Abdullahi, “He visited his wife at the sick bay in Mangu around 6 p.m., on Wednesday. He went out to buy food for her but could not return. After searching for four days, the body was found in an abandoned well close to the hospital. The corpse was recovered together with soldiers attached to Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), who have been maintaining peace in the area.
“We are calling on all our numbers to remain calm and never take laws into their hands. We should continue to be law–abiding. The security agencies are doing their best to unravel the mystery behind his death. We are calling on them to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act and bring them to book.”
