Mixed Reactions Trail Buhari’s Frequent Travels
MIXED reactions by critical stakeholders in Benue State have trailed President Mohammadu Buhari’s travels across the globe in search of possible ways of delivering the country from the current economic logjam and insecurity posed by Boko Haram insurgency.
Relating his views with The Guardian, a university don and mathematician, Dr. Michael Atovigba said President Buhari’s globe trotting is not out of place; explaining that it will avail him the opportunity to build more economic and security ties across the globe, since no nation is an island on to itself.
Atovigba, who posited that both economic and security of all nations are affected by exogenous factors and not just internal factors, however, said even as his travels are useful, Mr. President should while traveling, delegate full powers to his brilliant members of his cabinet like Ogbonna Onu to run the critical affairs of government since governance should be a collectivity.
