Nigerian youths have the capability to pilot the political affairs of Nigeria and provide good leadership if given the opportunity by the older politicians, the CEO Sea Horse lubricants Nig. Ltd, Eze Ebuka Onunkwo has said.

Onunkwo spoke to The Guardian in an interview recently in Ozobulu, Anambra State, after receiving a certificate of immortalization/Academic Award from the management of Crown Point International School of Health Science and Technology, Owode, Ogun State.

Reacting to the ‘Not Too Young To Run’ bill recently signed into law by President Buhari, he extolled the performance of youths, saying many have excelled in different fields, especially in the academic, economic and entrepreneurship.

He maintained that they will even perform better than the present cadre of ‘old politicians’, whom he described as ‘analogue-based, old fashioned and reckless’, adding, “with their (youths) exploits and knowledge, we cannot doubt their capacity and ability to turn this country around for the better.

“I believe in our youths, they can make meaningful impact and will move Nigeria to the next level.

I don’t have any fear on the youths taking over leadership”.

He recalled that the Ikemba Nnewi, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd) took over the mantle of leadership, as the Governor of Eastern Region and Head of State, respectively, at ages of 20 years plus.
