Monarch Sues For Lasting Peace In Community

rochas-okorocha--THE monarch of Agwa community in Oguta Local Council of Imo State, Eze Blaise O. Ubah, has appealed to all sons and daughters, including residents of the community to live in peace and harmony.

Ubah told The Guardian that since he was issued Staff of Office by the state Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, on March 31, 2014, he has been under serious attack by some youths loyal to his opponent.

Though he commended the efforts of the state Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Lakanu, Okorocha and the member representing Oguta in the State House of Assembly, Ezediaro, for their commitment towards restoring peace in the community, he condemned what he called alleged move by some forces close to the seat of power in Abuja, which is capable of causing fresh mayhem in the community.

He questioned the rationale behind fresh moves by the police to open the case and start another round of prosecution in the matter after the stakeholders held peace meeting on January 4, 2016, which led to surrendering of arms by rival youths. He disclosed that the youths were getting set to clean up his palace for him to return before information filtered on fresh arrest.

Ubah also expressed joy in the decision of the authorities of the police to site a Divisional Police headquarters in Mgbala Obudi and stationing of contingent of mobilised police officers to halt the alleged criminality going on.

The Guardian gathered that shortly after Ubah was enthroned, his supporters and those who were against his kingship deployed youths to cause mayhem, vandalising and looting the monarch’s property in the palace, which forced him to flee for his life since May 17, 2014.

According to him, he had gone to the health centre in his area to visit a victim of alleged cult members’ attack, where he was advised to flee to exile to save his life.
