Mother of kidnapped kids in Ondo cries for help
Palpable fear has enveloped Akure, the capital of Ondo State, following the news that unknown gunmen have abducted two kids, who are siblings.
The Guardian gathered that the event occurred at Leo Area of Akure, about 8pm on Friday, when the abductors trailed the victims’ mother, in her Camry car, to their house.
According to sources, the kidnappers swooped on them and whisked the minors away in their mother’s car. The parents were yet to be contacted by the hoodlums as at press time.
Ondo State Police Command confirmed the incident, disclosing that a police contingent had been deployed to trail the abductors, arrest them, rescue the minors and prosecute the culprits.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, said the kids’ mother reported the incident at the station on Friday.
Odunlami added that the kidnappers waylaid the kids’ mother with a vehicle, as she was about to open her house gate, and in the process collected her car key, zoomed off with the kids in their mother’s vehicle.
“Anti-kidnapping section of the Police is already on the kidnappers’ trail to rescue the two kids and recover the car,” the police boss said.
