Mr Lanre Fasasi aka Sound Sultan, an MTN Ambassador and Musician has appealed to MTN subscribers to be patient as the process of SIM registration continues.

Fasasi made this plea on Thursday in Abuja while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at JD Leisure Centre, Wuse 2, one of MTN mega registration venues.

“My message to Nigerians is that MTN is the best network and where there is a crowd, there is bound to be a process

“But you can see we have been able to space out the registration centres and areas and there are not too many people at this venue.

“When you don’t do this, they yank off your line, so it is just for us to be patient.’’

Fasasi said that he was at the venue to encourage subscribers to wait patiently for the registration. He said that the process was not a tedious one but that people were not readily receptive to little inconveniences.

“When they see me around making fun with them, they tend to relax.’’

Also speaking to NAN on the registration, Mr Adeyinka Adeniyi, Trade Marketing Consultant, MTN Abuja said that every day the centre registered over 4000 subscribers.

Adeniyi said that MTN was doing its best to ensure that it reduced the number of people waiting to be registered. He urged customers to ensure that they came with the approved identity card approved by the Federal Government and Nigerian Communication Commission, adding that this had posed a challenge to the process.

NAN correspondent who visited the venue reports that the number of subscribers waiting to be registered had drastically reduced compared to what it was at the early stages of the exercise .
