No fewer than 1,200 Muslim lawyers stormed Kwara State for this year’s 16th Annual General Meeting (AGM) with the former Minister of Communications, Prof Isa Pantami lecture on Digital and technological relationship between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and law practices.
In his welcome address, the second Vice President of the Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria, Tijani Sanda, said the event, which featured panel sessions on law and ethics, data privacy, cybercrime and shariah perspectives will bridge the seeming gap between the AI and the law.
He stated that the law practitioners ought to be in tune with technological advancements to be ahead in the business.
“Most lawyers have to understand that there is no contest between AI and our job; that is why we want to bridge the gap between the lawyers and technology.
“As Muslim lawyers, we have a dual responsibility — to uphold justice within the legal system and to remain anchored in faith.
“This conference is our platform to bridge the worlds of tradition and technology, law and ethics, intellect and revelation,” he said.
