THE Executive Secretary of Mushin Local Council, Babajide Bello, has promised to make the welfare of council workers a priority. He stated this at a Staff Forum held at the weekend to reappraise the council’s workforce.

Noting that experience across the world shows that when workers were adequately motivated, their productivity improved, Bello urged the workers to articulate their demands in areas where they are lacking.

At the forum, the council boss distributed working tools to the street sweepers in his council area, which included brooms, rakes, hand gloves, nose guards, wheelbarrows, rain boots among others.

The Head of Council Administration, Prince Adegbola Olujobi, appealed to workers to remain committed to their duties.

Chairman, National Union Of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Mushin branch,  Raji Rasaki, thanked Bello for acceding to their requests, which included increased fund for staff welfare and buses for revenue generation.
