The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN), the apex regional body for Muslims in the South West zone, has called on the faithful to sustain the spirit of devotion and righteousness beyond the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement jointly signed by the President, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, President and Executive Secretary, Prof. Wole Abbas, to commemorate the Eid-el-Fitri celebrations, MUSWEN noted that the conclusion of fasting should not mark the end of the spiritual and moral transformation achieved during the sacred month.
It emphasised that the virtues of discipline, self-denial, generosity and intensified worship practiced during Ramadan are intended to be a lifelong guide for every believer.
Reflecting on the state of the nation, MUSWEN urged Muslims to continue offering special prayers for peace, security, and economic prosperity in Nigeria.
“As we celebrate this joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitri, let us remember that the God we served during Ramadan is ever alive to reward our deeds throughout the year,” the group added.
