S’East will shock APC in 2019, Ezeife assures
Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko has dedicated his accomplishments in public office to his late father.

But he said his father developed extreme dislike for politics due to the 1983 crisis in the state, which made him to warn him and his siblings to shun it.

“If there is anybody who infused us with political virus it was my father himself. He loved politics. But after the 1983 mayhem my father developed hatred for politicians.

“It was because of the violent background of politics that he did not want me to involve in politics. But if he was alive now, he would be proud of my achievements.

“If my father was alive, he would have been so proud about the Abiye programme because it is about you taking care of the vulnerable in the society. He would also be proud about mega schools because he spent his whole life in educating his children because he dropped out of school,” he stated.

Mimiko spoke at the public presentation of his biography written by Prof. Olu Obafemi titled “Mimiko’s Odyssey.” He said he, however, defied the advice to indulge in politics early in his life.

Former governor of Anambra State, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife declared at the event that the South East will shock the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 general elections.
According to him: “South Eastern people will not join APC. What is happening is that some people who want to be governor are going to APC and they will discover that they will never win any election after going there.

“They cannot win the governorship. So don’t worry about that. We have been more consistent in the zone, so we are not going anywhere.”

Dignitaries at the event include the Chairman of Governors’ Forum and Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulazeez Yari; Adamawa State Governor, Mohammed Umar Jubrila; Chief Olabode George; Alhaji Balarabe Musa; Chief Ayo Adebanjo; Pa Reuben Fasoranti; Dr. Frederick Faseun; Prof. Olu Agbi; Evang. Bamidele Olumilua; Mr. Eyitayo Jegede and others.
