The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has recognised Seyi Tinubu for his contributions to youth inclusion in governance, describing him as “a noble bridge between the current administration and the voices of Nigerian youths.”
The commendation was delivered during a National Prayer Day held in his honour to mark his 40th birthday, which took place from 11th to 13th October 2025 at CLEM Student Church and the Polytechnic Mosque in Auchi, Edo State.
The event combined prayers, worship, and community outreach, with the Rector of Auchi Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Shehu Umar, serving as Chief Host.
In his address, NAPS President Comrade Paul Oshiofune Oghayan (GCNPS) described Tinubu as “a visionary youth whose strategic involvement in governance has redefined student and youth inclusion in national development.” He added that “Seyi has emerged as a noble bridge, mending the long-standing disconnect between the youth constituency and the seat of power, as well as amplifying the voices of generations too often unheard.”
Oghayan highlighted the tangible impact of Tinubu’s engagement with young people, citing financial support to indigent students, humanitarian interventions during disasters, and ongoing dialogue with youth leaders. “His heart for humanity speaks louder than words,” he said, stressing that the appointments and initiatives influenced by Tinubu are “statements of faith in the Nigerian youth.”
He described the gathering as more than a celebration, calling it “a collective intercession for divine favour upon Seyi Tinubu as he marks his 40th year on earth, a milestone of grace and destiny.”
The NAPS President offered prayers for Tinubu’s long life, health, prosperity, protection, and the fulfilment of his political mission, declaring that his service would “be crowned with honour and greater responsibility.”
“May every voice lifted here today ascend before God as a sweet-smelling sacrifice, bringing grace, favour, and peace to Seyi Tinubu and to our beloved nation, Nigeria,” Oghayan added.
The three-day event also featured the cutting of a birthday cake in Tinubu’s honour and the distribution of cooked food and relief materials to students and the less privileged within the Polytechnic community, reinforcing the association’s commitment to social outreach and youth development.
