The Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT) has distributed over N800 million in Zakat and Sadaqah since the inception of its charity arm, the NASFAT Agency for Zakat and Sadaqat (NAZAS).

This was disclosed during the society’s 30th anniversary celebration held at the NASFAT Islamic Centre in Asese, Ogun State. One of the keynote speakers, Prof. Nasirudeen Olajide Onibon, highlighted the significant roles NASFAT had played in fostering unity and uplifting the Muslim community.

He noted that NAZAS had transformed the way Zakat and Sadaqah are collected and disbursed, ensuring that more people benefit from Islamic charity. He further said that NASFAT had extended its influence beyond the four walls of the mosque, making a lasting impact on the Muslim faithful. He also noted that NASFAT had played a vital role in strengthening the faith of Muslims and preventing religious conversions.

In her goodwill message, the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who was represented by Alhaja Basirah Abina, condemned ritual killings among youths seeking wealth through unlawful means. She urged NASFAT members and Muslims at large to uphold Islamic values and resist societal vices.

She commended NASFAT for its contributions to the moral and spiritual development of Muslims and acknowledged its role in promoting positive change. She, however, on behalf of the Ogun State government, made a donation to support the organisation’s activities.

In his opening speech, NASFAT Nationwide President, Abdulrauf Abdulwaheed Ayodeji, stressed the need for the society to evolve and attract younger members. He acknowledged that many youths within NASFAT come from families already associated with the organisation, while others remain uninterested.

Also, Chairman of the Day, Tunji Gafar, praised NASFAT’s leadership for its dedication and commitment over the years.
He encouraged them to continue their good work, assuring them of divine support.
