NATCOMS wants CBN to review POS withdrawal charges
The applause that greeted the recent downward review of bank charges by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) notwithstanding, Nigerians have urged the apex financial institution to look into the fees imposed by money agents rendering Point of Sale (POS) service for deepened inclusion, accessibility and affordability.
It had been learnt that these agents charge customers between N150 and N200 for a N6000 withdrawal and below while N350 is taken for transactions between N20,000 and N60000.
National President, National Association of Telecoms Subscribers (NATCOMS), Chief Adeolu Ogunbanjo, who stated this in an interview, noted: “The cut in bank charges simply means that the CBN governor has a listening ear, but the apex bank has not met the full yearnings of Nigerians.”
