
The fourth stream of 20 Senior officers and 137 rating professionals of the Nigerian Navy Logistics College, Dawakin-Tofa, Kano graduated with flying colours after scaling through their professional and academic rigors in logistics management courses.
The graduates include 12 Commanders who completed their Long Logistics Management Course 03, (LLMC) and eight Sub-Lieutenants of Logistics Officers Basic Course 35.
Besides, the 12 members of LLMC also underwent an academic program and became the first set of Naval officers to complete a Master degree in Logistics and Supply Management from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA).
This is sequel to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) established by both establishments.
Also certified were Petty Officers Qualifying Course Batch 43; Leading Seamen Qualifying Course Batch 43; and Basic Qualifying Course Batch 51.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the College Commandant, Commodore James Kolade Adediji said the 157 graduating students have completed their professional and academic training and found worthy in character, learning and discipline.
Commodore JK Adediji explained that the students during the cause of their stay in Kano exposed to regimental exercise and industrial attachment, even as they passed through academic work; and thereby proven competent with high level resilience and satisfactory comportment.
The Commandant revealed that significant number of the graduants demonstrated exemplary academic quality and passed with distinctions have been recommended as instructors in the college.
Earlier, the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command, Rear Admiral PC Nwatu applauded the management of Kano logistics college for nurturing products with high quality officers and rating professionals
Rear Admiral Nwatu who joined the ceremony virtually reminded the successful officers and ratings the need to justify the investment of the Nigerian Navy in their capacity adding that the military requires maximum loyalty and discipline.
The senior officer said the command was not unmindful of challenges of infrastructure, administrative and logistics at the college, adding that the Chief of Naval Staff is committed to support the college with the require demands and rightful incentives to boost the moral of instructors.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf who was represented by director state security training in the state, Alh. Kabiru Gwarzo applauded the Nigerian Navy for strengthening the state security architecture. He reiterated government readiness to support the military with necessary logistics to meeting it’s constitutional mandate in Kano.
