NBC, JayFM agree to settle out of court
The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and the management of a leading private radio station in Jos, JayFM, yesterday opted for out-of-court settlement with a view to reopening the station shut down over two months ago under curious, questionable and alleged political circumstances, without further delay.
The owners of JayFM, Jodaj Global Communication, had through its counsel, Mrs. H.O. Olowookere, sued the NBC before Justice Musa Kurya of the Federal High Court II sitting in Jos, demanding the immediate reopening of the station.
When the case came up for hearing in Jos, Olowookere told the court that there was an ongoing discussion between the station and NBC to settle the matter out of court.
