NCSCN honours Judith Ogbara with humanitarian service award

The National Civil Society Council of Nigeria (NCSCN) has presented Hon. Dr. Judith Ogbara with its ‘Icon of Humanitarian Service’ Award in recognition of her contributions to education and community development.

The award was conferred during the Civil Society Summit on Democracy and National Development, held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Rotunda Conference Hall, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.

The event was attended by several public figures, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, represented by Senate Spokesman Senator Adeyemi Adaramodu; Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications and former Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Sunday Dare; Senator Shehu Sani; and legal practitioner Barrister. Kenneth Okonkwo.

While presenting the award, NCSCN officials commended Dr. Ogbara for her ongoing support of female education through her non-profit organisation, the AAE Foundation. According to the council, her efforts have supported hundreds of students in Akwa Ibom State, particularly through the sponsorship of WAEC and JAMB registration for girls.

“We acknowledge your selfless service and unwavering commitment to the betterment of human lives,” the organisers said. “Your dedication to promoting female education reflects the type of individual contribution needed for national development.”

Dr. Ogbara stated that the foundation has supported over 500 girls over the past seven years and is expanding the initiative to include 1,000 students this year.

The NCSCN said the award is intended to encourage continued civic involvement and spotlight the role of grassroots efforts in advancing national goals.
