NEDC Illuminates teaching hospitals, schools, others in Taraba
A significant improvement to the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Wukari, in Taraba state by installing new lighting systems in the hospital, has been made possible by the North East Development Commission (NEDC).
Also observed to have benefited from the gesture, is the State University (TSU) which is located in Jalingo, the state capital, and Government Day Secondary School Bali, in Bali local government council of the state.
The initiative, as gathered by our state correspondent, is part of the NEDC’s broader efforts to enhance educational infrastructure and create a better learning environment for students in the region.
The newly installed lights, according to the Managing Director of the commission, Alhaji Mohammed Alkali, are expected to improve safety and extend study hours for students, as well as contributing to the overall educational development in the state.
The leadership of the commission who were in Taraba during the weekend for their oversight functions, expressed satisfaction with the work done across the nooks and crannies of the state by the contractors handling the commission’s projects.
The project initiatives, according to the managing director, was to supplement electricity supply in those institutions by ensuring the illumination of those communities.
While admonishing the benefiting institutions to ensure maintenance and safety of the projects, the commission on its part, vowed not to rest on its oars pending when it mandates are fully actualized in the entire six states of the region.
Projects observed to have been supervised by the commission during their oversight functions to Taraba,are,
ICT unit Federal University Wukari, NEDC warehouse in Jalingo.
Others are Mass Housing at Federal University Wukari, Federal University Wukari Teaching Hospital, Federal Government College Wukari and Government Secondary School Wukari
Mass housing at Federal Medical Centre Jalingo, Three Solar boreholes at Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Jalingo, Mass housing at Taraba State Polytechnic Jalingo to mention but just a few.
Leadership of some of the benefiting institutions who spoke with The Guardian, promised to jealousy protect the solar powers from vandals and other undesirable elements.
