
She was buried on December 31, 2021, at Enhwe town, Delta State.
The association described her as a woman of independent mind in the positive sense.
In a statement, the Chairman of the association, Godwin Akpan, said the association would greatly miss her swag, care and counsel.
He added that Ojome loved to embrace the vision and pursue it with vigour to the best of her abilities.
He said: “Mama Jokome was one of the founders of the Newspapers and Magazines Distributors’ association, an umbrella organization of all distributors of press products in the country in 1979 otherwise known as NDAN. Until her death, she was the matron of the esteemed organization.
“Mrs. Jokome was a warrior, workaholic, an organiser and transformer of lives, she was very strict to a fault. Madam was a no-nonsense woman and a motivator with a high principle of excellence. Madam Jokome was a woman that loved perfection and set an example through a dint of hard work, she was a woman who handled everything with dexterity. Her works and services to God, especially in church departments where she headed before being called to glory, has truly left some indelible footprints on the sands of time.”
The outing services and thanksgiving will take place on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Methodist Church Nigeria, 1/3 Wesley Street, Ashimolowo, Abesan Estate, Ipaja, Lagos.
