NGO urges FG to release allocation to ABUTH
Equity Alliance has urged the Federal Government to ensure timely release of funds allocated to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria, Kaduna State, in the 2023 budget to enable the completion of ongoing projects.
At a media briefing, yesterday, in Kaduna, the non-governmental organisation (NGO) stated that the hospital, as the major tertiary health institution and referral centre in the state, needed to be in its utmost shape to cater for Kaduna people and neighbours.
The National Chairman, Magaji Baba, told journalists that the hospital management recently installed state-of-the-art equipment, to reduce the amount expended on medical tourism.
“We want to commend the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of ABUTH for the installation of state-of-the-art equipment in the hospital. We commend the hospital’s management because this development will reduce medical tourism and meet the health needs of the people of Kaduna and neighbouring states.
“In particular, the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine recently installed in the hospital is the first of its kind in Northern hospitals. There are so many ongoing projects, which the hospital is witnessing and in different levels of completion,” he said.
