Niger explosion: NEMA presents items, Ganduje condoles with governor

In response to the tanker fire incident that occurred at Dikko Junction in Niger State, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has delivered food and non-food items, including medical supplies for treatment of the injured victims and relief support for families of the affected persons.

In response to the tanker fire incident that occurred at Dikko Junction in Niger State, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has delivered food and non-food items, including medical supplies for treatment of the injured victims and relief support for families of the affected persons.

This is contained in a statement by the Head, NEMA Press Unit, Manzo Ezekiel. The statement noted that the Director General of NEMA, Mrs Zubaida Umar, visited the community on Monday and flagged off distribution of the items, saying it was also in line with the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government’s commitment to support in the recovery of the community from the disaster.

She said: “Based on the report of the first rapid assessment carried out by officials of NEMA, NSEMA and other first responders, we have come to provide immediate assistance of food and non-food items including medicaments to the affected families.”

MEANWHILE, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduja, the National Working Committee (NWC) and other leaders of the party have paid condolence visit to the Niger State Governor, Muhammad Umaru Bago, at the state liaison office Abuja, over the tanker explosion.

Ganduje stated that their visit was to condole with the government and the people of Niger State over the disaster, describing the incident as unfortunate Responding, Bago appreciated the APC national chairman and his entourage for the visit, which he said meant a lot to him. He said measures were being put in place for intensive advocacy on the need for people not to engage in scooping content of any tanker in an accident scene.
