Niger fixes 2025 Hajj fare at N8m, sets January 30 payment deadline

Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed N8,457,685.95 for the 2025 Hajj fare for the intending pilgrims from the state.
Executive Secretary of the Board, Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, in a statement, stated that the fare was in line with the recent pronouncement by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) pegging N8.457,685.59 as the final Hajj fare for the state.
Aliyu maintained that 30th January 2025 has been set for the closure of the payment to allow for timely remittance to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
He urged the intending Pilgrims who had already paid the deposit of 8.4 million to pay the balance of 57,685.59 Naira only, and those who made a deposit of less than that should also pay the remaining balance.
The Executive Secretary said that the 2025 Basic Traveling Allowance (BTA) for each Pilgrim has been set for $500 as announced by the NAHCON, saying that the board promised to thoroughly evaluate the health status of every Pilgrim to determine the eligibility of the pilgrim right from the local government to the state level.
“The Board would also provide detailed guidelines and support to assist intending pilgrims throughout the payment process and beyond, ensuring that every intending pilgrim who has completed its payment on or before the deadline to embark on the spiritual journey is well informed,” Aliyu said.
