The President of the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), Elder Israel Akinadewo, FCA, PhD, is set to unveil a major scholarly work to commemorate the centenary of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) movement.
The over 1,000-page book, titled The Underpinnings of the Band of Cherubim and Seraphim: Historical and Empirical, will be presented in conjunction with the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim (ESOCS)-led Centenary Committee.
Akinadewo, who also serves as the Prelate of Motailatu Church Cherubim and Seraphim Worldwide (MCCSW), revealed the forthcoming launch while presenting a draft copy of the book to the Prelate of ESOCS, Baba Aladura (Dr) David Bob-Manuel.
He described the book as a comprehensive historical resource that affirms Saint Moses Orimolade as the sole founder of the C&S movement. The work also documents 100 different C&S denominations and assemblies, examining their distinctive characteristics and governance structures.
According to Akinadewo, the book goes beyond historical documentation, offering empirical insights into how the C&S movement has influenced the growth of Christianity in Nigeria and other parts of the world. It will further explore the movement’s spiritual, biblical, philosophical and cultural foundations, as well as the evolving role of women in its leadership and ministries.
Currently serving as Acting Head of the Accounting Department at the University of Ilesa, Osun State, Akinadewo said the book will serve as a lasting resource for scholars, theologians, and members of the church keen on understanding the legacy and impact of the C&S tradition.
The official unveiling is scheduled to take place during the centenary celebrations being coordinated by ESOCS, recognised as the mother church of the movement founded in 1925.
