The Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS) has secured full accreditation and approval for its six National Diploma (ND) programmes from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE.)

CAILS recently presented the programmes for accreditation and resource verification.

According to the accreditation report, National Diploma (ND) Accounting and ND Computer Science were granted full accreditation for five years, while ND Mass Communication, ND Library and Information Science, ND Law, and ND Sharia and Civil Law received interim accreditation, allowing them to commence operations with full accreditation later in two years.

CAILS has consequently made history as the first institution in Nigeria to run ND Law and ND Islamic and Civil Law programmes.
This landmark achievement positions the College as a pioneer in legal and Islamic education under the NBTE framework.
Reacting, the acting provost of the College, Dr. Sa’ad Hadi, described the feat as a result of collective effort and dedication of the management, staff, students, and stakeholders.
He reaffirmed the College’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and the advancement of technical and vocational education in Nigeria.
Having appreciated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his untiring support, Hadi expressed gratitude to the registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof Is-haq Oloyede, for his invaluable role in facilitating the onboarding of ND Law and ND Islamic and Civil Law under the NBTE regulatory framework.
“His (Oloyede) dedication and efforts were instrumental in securing approval for these pioneering programmes, which mark a historic achievement for CAILS and the entire education sector,” he said.
