Zonal Coordinator, Nigerian Customs Service, Zone C, Port Harcourt, Assistant Comptroller General, Kayode Olusemire, has charged officers to be cautious in dealing with the public with the aim of upholding the integrity of the country.

Olusemire, who gave the advice, yesterday, in Port Harcourt during a valedictory ceremony organised for him by the zone, said dignity and integrity matter a lot for any officer, who desires to make progress in his or her career and end victoriously.

He said: “Officers should be agile, ready to do more tasks, don’t be too religious, relate well with one another.”

He noted that the system of operations in the service has become more dynamic and charged officers to up their ante to key into what is happening across other parts of the world.

He said: “Service is not static, it is dynamic, I am happy that the Nigerian Customs Service is moving forward and keying into the dynamic nature of the service.”

He said fraudulent activities are not perpetuated by customs officers but by some importers, warning officers to beware of illegal activities as anyone caught would be treated accordingly.
