The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, and the immediate past President of the Senate have urged fellow Muslims to use the occasion of Maulud to reflect on the virtues of Prophet Muhammad.

They also urged them to reflect on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who brought a message of love, mercy, and forgiveness to the world.

This was as the Chairman, Senate Committee on Privatization and former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu congratulated the Muslim ummah on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud in commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammed.

Barau, in a message by his media aide Ismail Mudashir, to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) described the noble Prophet as a role model to all.

He reiterated the National Assembly’s commitment to continue to enact the necessary legislation to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in tackling the country’s challenges.

Barau, the Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, urged the Muslim community and all Nigerians to continue to pray for peace, stability, and prosperity in the country, stressing the importance of unity in overcoming the challenges the nation faces.

Lawan urged Muslims to strive to follow in his footsteps by being kind to our neighbors, helping those in need, and working towards a more just and equitable society.

“Eid-ul-Mawlid is a reminder of the common values that unite us as a people. I, therefore, urge Nigerians to use this celebration to bridge our differences and work together to build a brighter future for our nation,” he said.

Kalu called on religious leaders to use their platforms to advocate peace and unity among Nigerians regardless of ethnic, religious, and political differences.

He stressed that Nigeria’s diversity should be explored for growth and development.

In a statement, the former governor called on the Muslim community to use the season to pray for leaders at all levels of government.

He said, “I join our Muslim brothers and sisters in Nigeria and abroad in celebrating Eid-el-Maulud.

“It is a sacred season to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammed.

“I call on the Muslim ummah to sustain the teachings of the holy Qu’ran and exemplary qualities of the Holy Prophet Muhammed in their daily endaevours.”

The former governor wished the Muslim ummah a spiritually fulfilling celebration.
